Skip "Setting up your computer" phase on new user login

Hi,

I am going to use a Windows 8.1 computer in a conference room. The machine will be attached to an active directory domain and will see lots of different users. Each time a new user logs into Windows 8.1, a mini-setup process entails that significantly delays the login time. It takes around three minutes to login this way and is very annoying. Windows 7 only took around thirty seconds to log in. There is no need to setup and install Windows Store apps for every user that will ever use the computer. Is there a way around this? I've tried disabling the Windows Store via GPO but that has done nothing.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

To disable the First Sign-in Animation in Windows 8 and 8.1, you may Disabled policy named Show first sign-in animation under Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, System Logon.

Yan Li,

That worked great! Login is still a bit slow, but nothing like what it was with the animation enabled. Many thanks for your great reply!
